You can have the love and success that you dream of. You can find the self-confidence,
courage, balance, and peace of mind that you seek. The power to get what you are looking
for is, and always has been, within you.
But, right now, the life you want may feel all too far away. You may even have a hard time believing that having a better life is possible.
Most people come to therapy
because of the suffering caused by the distance
between who they are and who they want to be.
Is that true for you?
Do you have a life problem you can't solve?
Are you in emotional pain?
Do you feel empty or stuck?
You may find yourself waking
up in the middle of the night in a panic or are unable to get out
of bed in the morning.
Perhaps you can’t manage a compulsive habit.
Maybe you can’t find love in your life, a relationship has gone
bad, or you’re having trouble functioning sexually.
You could be
underachieving, unable to complete tasks, lacking focus.
feel lost and don’t know what to do with your life.
Maybe you just don’t
feel comfortable in your own skin.
Despite your doubt, there is some part of you that hopes things can get better. That is what has led you to this site.
Whatever your struggle, it is possible to heal and find the answers you are looking for.
Psychotherapy is a process that gives you the tools you need to solve your problems and realize your dreams. In therapy, I will help you reconnect to the source of power, pride, and confidence in yourself that will enable you to do anything you want.
As a therapist I will give you five things:
I will give you help.
Therapists are experts on human nature. I can help you help yourself. I understand that changing, growing, and becoming more of who you want to be is a process. I know how to guide you through this kind of process of growth.
Therapists know techniques.By using these techniques, I can help relieve your depression and anxiety. I can help you understand yourself. I can make it possible for you to make better choices.
The techniques I use can help heal traumatic wounds from your past that deeply impact your life in the present.
Therapists understand relationships. By using these understandings, I can help you connect and communicate better with your partners, children, family, and colleagues.
I can help you grow in confidence, strength, and courage. I can deepen your ability to feel, think better, do the right thing, and be more loving.
I offer you wisdom.
As a student of human nature, I not only draw on scientific techniques, but on the accumulated wisdom of the ages. I can help you understand the underlying laws of nature that lead to our happiness or despair.
If you like, I can provide advice.
Traditionally, therapists are not suppsed to tell you what to do. And I don’t. Most often, my job is to help you come to a decision for yourself. I help you figure out what is right for you. But many people come to therapy looking for guidance. They may have no other trusted source of information that can help them tease out a solution to a life problem. As a good therapist, I admit my personal bias, and I try in no way to coerce a client into taking action. At the same time, I am available to give my viewpoint, and help when solicited. I will answer the question when a client says, “what do you think?”
I offer coaching. I help you come up with goals, and offer inspiration, challenge, and accountability to help you get where you want to go.
I offer mentorship. I can see what is great in you, and inspire you to achieve what you never thought possible.
I give support.
When you are going through difficult emotional times, it is important to get all the support you can. You may need a shoulder to cry on, someone to give you strength to carry on, or simply someone to talk to, who will listen without judgment or comment. Sometimes you just need someone who understands. I will be there when you need me.
I give you love.
The main thing that heals in therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. Your therapist may be the only person in the world that you can share everything with. I am there with you in defeat and triumph. I cheer you on when you are doing scary things, comfort you when things don’t go your way, and celebrate when you succeed. Many times, I know better than anyone the meaning of your struggles and victories. I will recognize the best in you. I care. Some people think that therapists are only in it for the money. Yes, we do have to get paid. But money cannot purchase the deep care, concern, and interest that I have for my clients. It is this connection, more than anything else, that is at the heart of what you will get from me.
